Risk & Claims

Spatial data for risk. Navigation for the field.

Farun offers two separate things for insurance teams: location APIs that enrich underwriting and claims software with real terrain data, and a standalone GPS Navigator for field adjusters who need offline navigation in connectivity dead zones.

They're independent products. The APIs are for software teams. The device is for adjusters in the field.

The Problem

Underwriting and claims can't run on guesswork.

Traditional risk assessment relies on flat maps and third-party databases that don't capture real terrain. And when disaster strikes, adjusters sent to assess damage often lose connectivity and with it, access to the maps they need to navigate.

Risk Scores Are Built On Flat, Stale Maps

Underwriting teams rely on 2D maps that don't show elevation, slope, or drainage context. A property that looks safe on a flat tile may sit at the foot of a hillside catchment and the model never knows.

Field Adjusters Lose Navigation In Disaster Zones

After a flood, fire, or earthquake, cellular networks fail. Adjusters with cloud-only navigation tools can't load maps or verify coordinates exactly when accurate routing to a site matters most.

Address and Asset Verification Is Error-Prone

Policy fraud and mis-declared locations cost millions. Cross-checking a farm gate, storage depot, or remote construction site usually means blind trust in third-party data or expensive manual site visits.

Reachability and Exposure Require Real Spatial Data

How far can a claims team travel from a hub within SLA? How many assets sit inside a flood-risk zone? These questions still get answered with spreadsheets rather than actual terrain and routing models.

GPS Navigator - Hardware

Navigation for adjusters operating offline.

The GPS Navigator is a standalone device that stores maps locally and operates without any network connection. It doesn't connect to Farun's servers, doesn't send location data anywhere, and doesn't require a subscription to run. It's navigation hardware for vehicles operating in places without signal.

Offline Navigation

Adjusters reach the site even when the network doesn't.

The GPS Navigator stores map data locally. When an adjuster drives into a disaster-affected zone where cell networks have failed, they still have full routing, address search, and map context on-device - no connection required.

Fully offline. No SIM, no subscription, no cloud dependency.

Rural & Off-Road Routing

Navigate to properties that don't appear on Google Maps.

Many insured properties farms, rural warehouses, construction sites are only reachable via unsealed roads or unmarked tracks. Farun's offline routing engine covers rural road networks that consumer apps don't.

Rural road network coverage. Unsealed track routing.

Rugged Hardware

Built for field conditions, not office desks.

The GPS Navigator is hardwired to the vehicle's 5V supply. It runs continuously without a battery to manage and doesn't share screen time with a phone.

5V hardwired. Dedicated mounting.

For Developers

Building insurance software?

The Farun location APIs are a separate product for software teams building risk models, underwriting tools, claims dashboards, and spatial analysis platforms. They're not part of the GPS Navigator and not related to the device in any way.

All APIs are available pay-as-you-go via RapidAPI. Start with the API hub.

Without Farun

  • Risk models are built on flat maps - no terrain elevation, no slope, no drainage context
  • Field adjusters lose navigation the moment cellular fails in a disaster zone
  • Address verification relies on third-party data that can't be independently checked at the point of sale
  • Reachability and SLA coverage are estimated from spreadsheets, not actual drive-time routing models

With Farun

  • Elevation API brings real gradient and terrain data into underwriting models at the point of policy creation
  • GPS Navigator gives adjusters offline maps and routing in disaster zones where cloud apps go blank
  • Seach API converts declared addresses to verifiable coordinates for cross-checking in your underwriting tools.
  • Isochrone API pre-computes drive-time reachability for hub placement and SLA coverage modelling
